This letter is to clarify the inhumane crimes committed against the prisoners in Egypt .
A real human disaster by all means.
When some youth were visiting there friend on Wednesday September 4th in Abo-Zaabal prison .
He was arrested on Wednesday, August 14th, 2013 in Rabaa Al-Adawya square .
The prisoners gave them a piece of paper with a big S.O.S on it.
desperate to spread to the whole world , And show the horrible state the the prisoners are in .
the paper contained a few points of the cruelty that the prisoners suffers on daily basis .
1- The water constantly cuts off , aside from the terrible state of the bathrooms.
2- They are not allowed any kind of connection to the outside world including their own lawyers.
3- Poor ventilation and spreading diseases between the inmates , with the limited resources
of the prison's clinic and not aiding the inmates.
4- Deliberately trying to vague the Legal situation ( not clarify to the prisoners exactly what the Public Prosecution's decision )
5- Not holding responsible for the (pre-trial detention - preventive detention) law ( Daily recess - visitation rights )
6- Constantly trying to alter the law to the prison management's favour , and the comfort of the prison's worker to the inmate's expenses
(Deny visitation - prohibit direct calls to instant family)
7- The overcrowding of the cell (45 person in 5x6m room "average of 1/5 meter per person " which makes it impossible to sleep normally)
Those are the horrific facts that those prisoners are facing everyday not mention that those prisoners are not convicted yet.
An urgent intervention is desperately needed ,As so many Human laws are being breached in Egyptian prisons.
